Ladybower Route

Ladybower to Whitwell  — route devised by Paul Wood for the 2011 walk.

Starting from one of the most recognisable reservoirs in the country it takes in the Dark Peak for the first 15 miles showing how truly magnificent and varied the Peak District can be. We then travel around the outskirts of Sheffield (anti-clockwise – and not that you would know) before crossing beautiful countryside taking in villages and country park prior to trundling back into Whitwell.
The route constantly undulates and very rarely presents truly flat trails keeping the walker constantly vigilant plus presenting many areas where the views are simply breathtaking. There is a total of 5413 ft of ascending to be conquered…..a real challenge. So, download the route and get walking.
